In Sanatan Dharma, Devshayani Ekadashi is regarded as one of the most sacred and spiritually powerful Ekadashis of the year. According to the scriptures, on this auspicious day, Lord Shri Hari Vishnu enters Yoga Nidra (divine cosmic sleep) for four months, marking the beginning of the holy period of Chaturmas. Shri Vishnu Sahasranama, found in the Anushasana Parva of the Mahabharata, is the sacred hymn comprising the thousand divine names of Lord Vishnu.
